This poor little fiat is having a hard time with the gears

Gear are grinding and struggeling to engage. The car had just received a new cylinder, but the lazy ass idiot said that he did not bleed the clutch and the the affect of the low biting clutch will go away as the air eventually gets out of the system.

Now what id like to know is , who the hell fits a cylinder and not bleed the clutch.. (n)

This leaves me to do it... :slayer:

I have bled brakes before so i assume its the same principle ...

Pump clutch, open bleed nipple , close bleed nipple, fill up fluid and repeat?

Am i also correct in asuming the nipple is above the gearbox?

My djirre Stevh0,, jy behoort seker beter te weet met daai Rodeo scoop van jou,,!!! If this stupid nut didn't bleed the system,,, you should then klap him six-love and tell him that my grandmother turned in her grave and told me to do it as she can't do it,,, you mos should know better,,,

Is there any pressure on the pedal when tramping on the clutch peddle??
If not,, you don't have pressure on the system,, leading to bleeding the system.

If you do have pressure and still grinding,, you should look into replacing your clutch,, the pressure plate can still be fine but the clutch isn't and you will then force it to go into gear "grinding",, that would be difficult as it will feel like you are pushing the gear lever till it bends but no gears,,, "this is also to do with pressure in the line"

Yes the clutch slave cylinder bleed valve for the clutch is bolted on top of the gearbox with a push rod on the bell-housing,, it is either a number 6, 7, 8 spanner,,, it is also the same as when bleeding the braking system.

there is some pressure, comes and goes, but i know for a fact the fool didnt bleed it. there might still be some air in there.. id like to make sure there is none ..

Yeah, I just did a clutch replacement this past weekend, wasn't pretty.

Had the same problem with the gears, clutch has helped, check your engine mounting behind your gearbox, actually, check both, the gear popping out could be caused by the engine mounting on the left hand side of the engine, Check your gearbox oil level aswell.
