S**T!

I have this aswell, as I put in a previous post.
is it something major?
I've kinda got used to it and just changed 1st to second without reving it too high. but when I need to pull away from a roundabout quick i have to grind it else I will get run into.
Should I be worried?
Its a V reg 1.2sx 20000 miles on the clock

Re: Re: Re: Re: Gear change

Yes that is exactlyy the same - I had just got used to it also but having been in a hire car for the last month - going back to it is extremely irratatiing and as you mentioned pulling away quickly at roundabouts is a problem

oh and mines 99V with 33k (1.2 16v)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Gear change

If your clutch is working OK then the 2nd gear synchro will be on it's way out caused by abuse in going back into 2nd gear at too fast a speed thus wearing the synchro out. No cure bar a new gearbox I'm afraid

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Gear change

what i have just found out is that when cold i and idling i get a crunching noise until i press the clutch in is this also the same thing?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Gear change

My problem is purely when the car is in motion moving from 1st to 2nd. This problem went for about a week after the car was serviced and has now returned
