Technical Gear Box problems

hi guys

need some advice please......

Have a 1999 2.8 D which has started gear box problems. Shifting into 2nd and from 5th to 4th.

So what are the alternatives to a non repairable gear box. Is there any other makes that fit?

What have you done to sort the 2nd gear syncro mesh problem out?

Hi, is the problem failed syncro's or stiffness in gear lever operation?

If the latter, it may be down to the gear pivot needing lubrication, there are a few threads about this on the forum.

Thankd for the reply,

Its failed syncro on the 2nd gear and its going the same way on 4th, so a replacement or reconditioned box is the best solution?
But where from, recommendations please...........
