howdy.

can some people do me a favour, and measure from the cam cover to the slam panel and report the gap, stating which engine you have in there.

if you measure it from the timing / oil cap end, to the nearest point on the slam panel near the drivers side headlight.

Which bit of the slam panel? What you trying to do?

I make it 35mm, 1242 8 valve engine. Pic to follow.

cheers.i'm trying to work out if my engine is in the right place, which sounds odd.. but it looked wonky and i swear the exhaust manifold was much more of a faff to remove this time, as if there was less gap at one side.

I've not got any measurements but this is how my 1.2 16v sits in the engine bay

To my estimation it sits about 10 to 15mm further forward on the timing belt side than the gearbox side.
