Seicento Fuel Filter Leak solution?

I damaged my quick connector on engine side of the new fuel filter yesterday resulting in a dripping leak.
I capped it off with one of the bung caps that came with the new filter.
How do I fix this?
I have ordered a couple of new right angle quick connectors on amazon.
How do I get the old connector out of the fuel hose running from filter to engine.
How do I get new connector into hose so I can reconnect to the new filter?.
Is there a better way of doing this?
Appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.

Hi Slotman,
Thanks for coming back.
Attached is photo of situation.
Fuel filter is dripping into basin.
Bung cap is not staying on.
Red insulation tape is covering the damaged quick connector.
Don't know what to do.
Grateful for any advice.
