hello dear members
help!!!please!! someone knows the size of the front speakers
which fit the tipo.
I have square 6.5" (n) but I am changing now all the sound system,
allsow for all the sound specialist in the forum i would be very thankfull
if someone will recommand a nice set of speakers that will sound nice
with a pioneer 860MP headunit.
the amount of $ that I have for that is 200$
no need for rear speakers, I use simple pioneer 6*9 240 watt.
maybe I should replace them allsow but for know i recently bought them so....
thanks for all.

It's a 6x4" size, but watch the mounting depth - Infinity Reference 4652cf has excellent sound but just doesn't quite fit unless you do some hacking.

JBL do some 6x4" speakers (I had those in my Tipo) but they're a bit so-so for sound quality (cheaper than the Infinity speakers though). You get what you pay for. Try to get 'good quality' 6x4"s and DON'T buy 6x4"s that have a fixed rectangular frame - it's an oval hole.

I think you currently have square 4" speakers (unless you have mounted round 6.5" speakers in the doors?)

Anyway, you CAN get the 6x4" size - good luck!

PS I wouldn't choose 6x9s in the back myself, far too much 'brassy' sound behind you. Most of the sound should come from the front and the high dashboard location is good. Put the 4" speakers in the back, in the factory locations, and get yourself a 10" sub...

Sorry for dragging up an old thread :)

I have the square speakers in the dash, alexGS has already mentioned that they are 4" jobbies, but whats the max depth? Has anyone got a link/model for speakers/components that fit flush, preferably with the grill stuck back on top(stealth reasons)

Also, I have a JL 4 channel amp & sub from my old car. How would this setup sound in my trusty teepo - amped fronts/sub, OE shelf speakers off HU)?

The oval ones that go straight in are:

JBL6426e Grand Touring Series. 6x4 in size, not sure of depth.

Furthermore, at the time of purchase, JBL and Infinity were the same people. The Infinities have superior sound quality but if it makes you feel any better JBL are the leaders in PA and Cinema Audio Systems.

Thanks for the reply fella (y) I've used JBL before and was pleased with them.

Is the setup I mentioned above suitable for a Tipo?

Well the Tipo has good acoustics anyway.

I have the JBL's in the Front and 2 JBL 6x9's on the back shelf. No AMP just running off a Pioneer Head Unit.

Sounds great.

The JBL's 4x6's allow the frill to go back on.

Not sure about Amping the front JBLs as I believe they are low wattage components.

40w RMS
120w Peak

If you are running the OE speakers off the back which are like the 4inch round ones then you can do all off the head unit. If you use your amp start testing at lowest output first or you may blow your speakers.
