Our drive is on a slope, any speeds over 5mph the front grounds. I tried to look under but am not sure if the front bumper is grounding or the rubber seal mud-flap thing that runs the width of the car.

What is the rubber bit for and what could be grounding ?

Also can’t drive over the standalone speed bumps without scraping something so have to straddle with 2 wheels.

Weird. Never had problems with speed bumps!

I would have a look underneath and see which bits are scratched :) I doubt it's anything to worry about though.

will check, what is that rubber flap for ?

Aerodynamic and MPG reasons (basically to help deflect the air down enough so it doesn't flow straight back up into the the big hole that is the engine bay and create drag).

It's secondary purpose is to annoy people with steep driveways. :D

Yea, it's an aero thing. Presumably it's designed to take a bit of abuse from speed bumps and such like.

The flap on the 500 takes a lot more abuse that the one on the Mito. I dislodged mine some weeks back but thankfully managed to get it back on again. The flap on the 500 is quite far back so if it gets scratched or chewed a bit you wouldn't notice. I don't think that Mrs arorat will be looking to fit a set of Eibach Sportline springs.

I must say you remind me a lot of a guy who was on the forums up until last week who lives in the south of the emerald isle and whose other half also has a Mito! :p

Ah well. We wouldn't make the same mistake as with Puma boy. Loveshandbags has the protection of Mr. Multispoke and with a job change on the cards is looking to change her globe trotting mito 1.6 MJ for more suburban 500 :). When you dealing with a couple who are married since 1988 the personalities fuse into one. I heard that you were very persistent and gracious in your apology. Humility is an admirable trait.

lol hell no... Mrs aro-rat is currently learning to re-drive in manual after many years, she sent me a text this morning saying smoothest drive ever, that means her driving is marginally better than yesterday and did not ground the car on the drive :)

On forums people are allowed to have different opinions and defend them vigorously and sometimes this leads to people getting offended. This needn't be the case and people certainly needn't leave over a difference of opinions on a thread on a forum. If you do happen to speak to a certain Mr Multispoke then feel free to relay this information and tell him that I promise to be a bit nicer if there is a 2nd coming of Mr Multispoke :)

I understand from my brother-in-law there's an art in giving a 'man hug' and then getting on with life in the fast lane...

Couldn't find one in passodola red to shoehorn her newly found 'manual' driving skills particularily on reversing up the drive. I take it that you have no gutters like the one in the video :)....

a speed hump by my house always catches my friend out in her 500, think part of the issue is the suspension is soft so if you take it at anything other than a crawl it scrapes given the travel, off mix of cars catch this which aren't particularly low

my advice is just take it at a slight angle and issues is reduced

oddly my rocco which is lower and has wheel set back further has never had the issue until its latest round with the lowering stick
