Anyone had problems with discs and pads over heating on this model? I have changed 2 sets of front pads due to sintering. Getting too hot said Fiat tech guy but could not find anything wrong with the brake setup or discs!!! The pad material gets to look like an oxo cube and just crumbles away. This vehicle is a Trigano Tribute built on a Fiat Ducato 15 LWB panel van

Any info would be appreciated

Cheers

Not changed any pads but did have some problems, have a Sloop5 similar to yours 2.3jtd, Ducato 15 LWB panel van (high top) and after coming over one of the passes in the alps had to stop as the brakes were smelling verry hot, when stopped there was smoke/steam coming from the front ones, but it was cold and misty. same pads still in and working well, but at the time I was looking to see if there were any high performance pads available - no look.

To Sloopman,
Do you still have the sloop5. I have had one for 3 years and would be interested to swap pros and cons, mods experiences etc;

John.

Hi All

Sorry for the delay bit I have been away using me van! The brake problem has been solved after much deliberation and changes of different types of pads. The answere is not to use Fiat pads or any of the cheap factor pads that are available for about £20 or so. Fit Delphi pads and all will be well! No smell no sintering. They last for ever too.

Cheers
