Hello,
I am selling my fiat bravo Y reg JTD HLX 100bhp. It is a broom yellow one, Heated seats, alloys, full colour bumpers, fog lamps, 75,000, part service history (was serviced by previous owner himself up to 30,000), it has an mp3 player in at the minute and the original head unit is available,

Its a great car I have owned it for 18 months. no longer an apprentice so time for an Alfa, or fiat coupe.....

E-mail is [email protected], or [email protected]

e-mail if your interested not sure what its worth...

no takers for this??? I'm shocked.... untill i bought pauls HLX, this would have looked very attractive!

straight swap for a y plate brava 1.2 sx formula, 55,500 ffsh, 1.5 year warenty tax & mot till end march.

matt, somehow i cant see him swapping his 100hp turbodiesel for an 80bhp 1.2 which is not only less powerfull, and of a lower spec (yours is an sx, his is the hlx) but has a higher fuel consumption!

Realistically you'd have to give him your car, AND about a grand.

i know mine is of lower speck & if you read the post he wants an alfa or a coupe, so i know he would'nt want to swap anyway.
it looks like im stuck with the brava untill,
a) i write it off.
b) somone else writes it off.
c) i can do a straight swap for another car.
oh yeah i forgot mines been breathed on by nige.

If only the milage was lower id snap this one up..its exactly what i want

One with similar milage goin on autotrader for £4000 but its a 100sx
Most get advertised on autotrader for no less than £3000 from what i have seen regardless of milage
Im sure you will get a good price

Almost forgot I put my car on here!!!

Ok, looking at the e-mails and posts that I got only a few people are interested.....

Basically I have been looking for about £4200. There was a 1.9JTD Sx on autotrader with 70k for £4200, and it wasn't as nice as a HLX broom yellow one, but I do understand that the belts have not been changed on my car yet..

Also the car has been angel tuned by nigel himself it runs like the wind, this can be removed at any point if required.

Any more offers please e-mail me.....

By the way the other message was from me....just forgot to log in! seems to be a load of alans on here as well!!

There's a JTD HLX on sale with 35000 miles for £4250 on AutoTrader, but its a dealer, so i guess if sold privately it'd be around £3900, but its still over priced.

Your car just has too many miles, and requires a cambelt, tensioner, aux belt change asap mate. Don't think £4250 is a realistic price.

Parkers state for a 2001 Y Fiat Bravo JTD HLX with 30,000 miles:

Dealer: £4110
Private Good: £3940
Private Poor: £2705

Since your car has over twice the mileage then i'd look closer to the £2500 - £3200 depending on the condition of the car.

parkers

In my experience Parkers have been well out in their guide prices in both directions. At the end of the day it is what a buyer is prepared to pay for the car and whether the seller genuinely wants to sell it.

A belt change isn't that hard. Diesel engines are good for a couple of hundred thousand miles. Petrol heads just don't seem to grasp this. Perhaps it's the noise of revving their petrol engines to get anywhere that drowns out what their common sense is telling them.

Re: parkers

A belt change isn't hard to a competent mechanic with the right tools. But for those who don't have the tools, it can sting us in the bud, costing anywhere around £200 to around £800 depending on the engine.

A diesel engine belt change cost me in the range of £250, thats all belts changed and tensioner.

Parkers, isn't the gospel of car prices but its ideal in a way as it gives us a rough estimate of what our cars are worth, it helps us to give a good ball park figure of how much to sell our cars or how much we should be looking at to buy them.

The problem is the car is still high mileage for a 3/4year old, with its high miles i agree its max price is around £3200 but the car would have to be in excellent condition to be worth that and not have any faults.

Bravo JTD HLX

Hi, im new to the forum, i just wanted to say this...

In October this year i bought myself a silver Y reg 2001 Fiat Bravo JTD HLX off Autotrader for £3350, it was listed at £3500. It had 30k on it and was in excellent condition, and it came with climate control, elec windows, alloys, heated seats, FSH etc. It was a private sale.

At the same time however there where two HLX's for sale in my price range, a silver one and a black one, both around £3500, but i chose the silver one as it looked better, however the cars on the Autotrader lately are v pricey to say the least hence why they're still there week after week after week.

Not being cruel to Alan here, but i paid £3350 for mine, some might say its down to the guy wanting a quick sale, but i would of paid £3500 for it as it was well looked after but you've always got to haggle, you just never know. Anyway it can't be luck as there were two JTD Bravo HLX's for sale at the time around the same price, in different parts of the country.

Re: Bravo JTD HLX

Yep I can see what your saying, but basically I am selling me car becuase I have finished my apprenticeship. If it doesn't sell I'll just get the belts changed and keep it so I am after a high price.

Again I did say I didn't know what it was worth and i took a figure from one for sale on autotrader, as I am open for offers.

But as most of you will agree its not worth selling a beautiful broom yellow HLX JTD angel tuned 150bhp diesel for £2500!!

I was looking to buy a 20v turbo coupe but my insureance what me to wait till I'm 35! Thats only 15 years!!Great! So I'm not in a rush....

Re: Bravo JTD HLX

By the sounds of it, it seems to me Alan you don't really want to sell your car, and if thats the truth then don't. Keep the car, run it into the ground, if thats physically possible. :)

You can't expect people to pay over the odds for your car mate. People will only pay what they think its worth, your asking in the region of £4200.

If you take a look at Autotrader all cars currently being sold on there are by traders. Traders prices are always higher than Private sales, but buying from a trader you always get some peace of mind as the car will carry some type of warranty normally.

Fiats depreciate alot in value over the years, its just one of those things.

It is true diesels can covers thousands and thousands of miles, but you still can't ignore a belt change. So you must take into account this when selling your car. Knock off some £££'s.

70K is alot for a 3 to 4 year old car as previously stated, but it doesn't mean the engine is worn out. CAMS tend to get worn out slightly which may cause problems starting when the climate is cold, so even tho its not a must do, the new owner may want that doing and have them re-skimmed, and hence may knock your price down.

Alan if your happy with the car then why sell, you keep saying its a lovely broom yellow, its got 150BHP and its a great car.

People here seem to be giving you genuine offers, so if your not happy with them, then don't sell. Try putting your car on Autotrader, see what you get then.

Re: Bravo JTD HLX

I can see what you are saying....I paid £5,750 for the car 18 months ago so it has lost alot of money. Your right about keeping the car i am starting to consider it more and more as the price tag on the car goes down and down.

I was recommended by fiat to change the belts at 75, and i was thinking that if i was not keeping the car it was not worth investing in it....unwise maybe..

Re: Bravo JTD HLX

they should always be changed early. 75k is fairly optimistic on Fiats part...
