alright mate ive just seen your post where you have got the pics of your install and i like the sub in the parcel shelf i was wondering if it was a free air sub and if so what does it sound like i could be tempted into getting one. what wattage etc bass type eg low any info cheers mate Danny.

Hi mate,

i had the dilema of wanting a kick arse sound install and also wanting to use my boot for every day use so i had two options, some 6X9's which would have been a poor option or a "soundboard" i opted for the second one :)

it is a AxTON Soundboard cax-45 i believe. It is from germany but the company i got it from is in ireland i paid about 245 euros for it and then about 40euros for the bravo parcel shelf.

the sound quality is in my hunble opinion superb, the bass is very deep and fast so for RnB tracks it is great and also for the trance/dance style it keeps up with it nicely

i know a lot of people argue about sub's in boxes being better etc but honestly i love my soundboard the sound is immence and i have all the gain options on the amp down to 0 and still i get loads of bass, i had my gain up to about 30% but the bass was literally vibrateing my glass, lol i turned my headunit to -5 bass but that dident work so i put it on about 10% gain and -5 bass on headunit and it was a good compromise but i just got a new headunit which i have the bass set to 0 and the gain set to 0 and it is perfect :)

there are three soundboards to go for there is the 2 10" subs the 4 8" subs or the 12" sub and 2 16cm 3-way's i went for the 12" sub and the 2 16cm 3-ways

any more questions let me know :) i have a few more pics of it from diffrent angles etc, i will post later on :)

Keep your eyes peeled, I'm busy designing a very low profile build. Managed to locate some subs from a company that has now gone out of business.

www.illusionaudio.com

Just over 3" deep for a 12" sub.

Re: Re: Re: Re: FOA Bahney

nice1 tom that sounds pretty good i may be interested in that as well as my current set up, over the summer i intend to add another set of midrange and another sub/amp combo

thanks for the compliment danny, you can't tell from the pic but i re carpeted the back of the seats in black bass box carpet to give it a more professional finish and mounted the amp ontop of that so there was no vibrations, i also have a green neon in there as well which glows everything up at night :)

it was one hell of a hassle getting it all installed and working but it was worth it in the end :)

tom keep me posted mate about that sub i am thinking of expanding my boot install, but still have to keep the boot usable, it is miles harder then it sounds i promise !!

The price would scare you :) The only supplier is in Canada and the shipping is £75!
