Tuning flywheels

Unless you know a very good machine shop with an excellent reputation then I would go for the off the shelf item, heard too many horror stories with 'botched' lightened flywheels.

I took a peek at the items on http://www.flatlander-ipp.co.uk/fida...fly-fiat.shtml
They look well made for just over £200.

I see they provide for the MJet too but add a caveat / disclaimer about gears being noisier... OK fair enough, the DMF is there to reduce vibration and noise, but has anyone replaced a DMF with a standard example on a diesel and have anything good / bad or indifferent to report?

I never thought a lightened flywheel would be as worthwhile on anything other than N/A. That's just what I've heard though, as it's not as much of a limitation on forced induction setups.

 I'm just interested in reducing the costly fault liability for the future TBH richie... I guess a light flywheel on a turbo-charged diesel might have challenges for driving style lol!
