Hi all, I have just bought a Doublo van and have a small issue, the display on the dash flashes for 5 to 10 minutes every time I start the van, after this time it stays on solid as normal, you can read everything fine its just flashing. Any ideas?

Clock stays fine does not loose time or anything, it just flashes , what is aligned'?

i have just collected it, it has had a hour and a half drive back so i dont think battery would be the problem,

BTW it is brand new,

Mrs_G's Cargo had this problem not long from new. I can't be 100% sure but I think there was a software upgrade that fixed it.

The fault still occured on the odd occasion leading up to its current state of the total mileage being displayed as -----.

Perhaps T can see if there are any software fixes listed?

The van is brand new,1.3 multijet SX, all of the info is correct such as the total mileage and all the trip computer works fine, its just flashing when started, if I press the trip button it changes on the display as it should, the clock works fine as well, it just flashes for 10 minutes or so.

just one other note, it has not come from Fiat dealer its from a independant,

thanks for all the help

Proxy alignment is basically synchroisation of all the cars modules,ECU/body computer/cluster/radio etc so they all recieve/transmit CAN signals at correct time.

Did this 'independant' have examiner diagnostic equipment?

Not from what I could see, they mainly just sold new cars and vans of all makes, I did not buy it from them I got it from a lease company, they then arranged for me to collect it from this place, is this proxy-aligned something that needs to be done on all new fiat’s?

I assume fiat will do this for free as it is a brand new van?

thanks again for all your help(y)

hi guys thanks for all your help, it has now been sorted, my local fiat dealer sorted it tooday, it had not been PDI'd, i have now noticed one other issue, people keep flashing me at night as if i am on high beem,i am not. i have been having it with the van both empty and full, i have turned them down now a bit but i have never had problems in other vans>.

Not PDI'd :shakehead ...therefore not proxy-aligned!

Did the dealer charge you..they were rightful to do so if they did but I would claim that back from the independant.

I wonder if anything was actually checked, wheel bolts torqued/suspension and steering checked etc:(
