Last night in this cold weather my drivers door on my 1998 pickup froze and the lock barrel cracked in half. Luckily I have on the shelf a brand new Fiat lock set part number 7079589 which consists of all the barrels and 2 blue keys and 1 red key. How do I get this to work on my truck? Is it simple as removing the old lock barrels, putting in the new ones and away I go or do I have to get it re-programmed? If so, how do I get it done? I do not have an existing red key, just one very battered blue key. How do I get my brand new red master key thats part of the new lock set to become 'the' master key? Any help much appreciated.

Easier to just change the one door lock and use the new key for this only.
If you do go for a full lock change, you can send me your keys and we can sort it for you.
If you dont want to do that, call a local autolocksmith out.

Hi Ponsaloti thanks for the reply, I'd rather get the complete lock set fitted as having different keys for different locks would drive me mad! plus if I lose or break the one key I have at the moment I'd be stuck so rather change the whole lock set and be done with... how much would you charge to code my new lock set? PM me if you prefer.
Thanks,
Jim.

I'm not too far from you on the other side of essex, will drop you a PM now...
