where is the best grounding point on my 1.4S bravo ?

i was told under the seats there is one and under the rear spare wheel, which is best ? or is there any other grounding points ?

and has anyone got a pic ?

thanks in advance guys

Anywhere there is bare metal, find a nice bolt that goes into the body shell and sand the paint down around it. A LIGHT smear of coppaslip to stop it corroding.

Re: Re: Fitting an amp

where have you fitted yours tom ? or anyone else for that matter.

Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

My grounding point is underneath the backseat on the passengerside side (just need to get a bolt that fits into the little identation) You'll see what I mean when you lift the seat up. Or if you want a pic I'll get one on request.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

Mine are about to change, the current one is under the rear seat but I'm about to fit a Genesis monoblock and a Denon 6ch.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

mine is attached to a bolt sticking up under the back seat. just need to get an m8 nut and washer to go on the bolt.

Bahney are you going to Nottingham? If not I'll put a picture up.

I use the bolt holding the rear cluster in.

Bahney, picture as requested.

The big thick blue cable is my earth cable. There is a an indentation in the metal under the backseat where you can connect it to, but make sure you scratch the paint off the metal first otherwise you will not get an earth contact!
Sorry that the picture is not 100% clear, it is 12:30am and the camera doesn't like darkness! I've tried to explain as thouroughly as possible what I've done and it seems to work ok ;)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

Thanks a lot Ian that pic is great really helps me get an idea of where to put it. i assume it is either glued or bolted down then ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

i wouldn't glue it! It would be like insulating it, and if it got hot it may melt the glue.

I would bolt it or a self tapper if you cant get to the other side for a nut!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fitting an amp

hehe yeah, bolted. I had to goto a B&Q to find a bolt the right size, cost about 20p :)
