Ok sorry for the poor pics, it was dark and the only chance i got, the first pic is of te selector, looking from the front of the car, i dont no what the 'u' shaped thing is but it hits the brake servo or cylinder.

Second pic is of a connector that was coverd in tape when i got it and it leads into the bulk head, dont know where then. It comes through behind the ECU

The third pic is a part of the air induction, it came off the pipe leading down to the intake. It was loose and then i broke it by accident

Iv'e tried pulling the light stalk/main beam switch but nuthing happend i dont think

I'll have a peek under the bonnet later and see if the counterweight thing is on upside down (why would anyone want to remove it?). The connector thing: if it's not open ended, so to speak, may be the main relay. The other bit you can probably safely remove.

For the stalk, it's possible either the stalk itself has given up the ghost or the connection is down. Do you get main beam?

First Pic, the U shaped counterweight on the gear selector pivot is definately on upside down ...Or at least mine is the other way up and we've had the car from new.

2nd pic, not a clue, ours doesn't have any of that wiring.

I think the third pic is the hot / cold air intake valve?

Well seeing as the car is off the road i jumped in and turned the conterbalance thing around and i can get first fine now, i could see it had been turend round, and the reason why is beyond me

Iv'e just taken the thing out now, cos i have broken it *ahem* it is off the intake system, so i guess if you dont need it for induction kits i dont need it!

The wires have been coverd by tape buy someone before me, the dont look like there supposed to be loose as there open ended, and its about 2 pins down and quite a few across, about 20? duno realy havnt counted!

I do have main beam when i push it down, but i cant find the flasher

From underneath the car. Forward of the petrol tank in the centre you'll see the cable meet at an adjuster. That's it. Before you adjust, get someone to work the handbrake while you look at the actuator elbow springs by the hub. If they don't move significantly, then you need to do the actuators first. Pretty much all in one of the FAQs/HowTos above.
