I'm not sure if you're a spam artist but I have always found Lancaster a better classic insurer than Performance direct. They did give a good quote on my Panda but I'm with a company called Green Insurance as they offset the Carbon my car produces as I drive the old girl about. Unless the X-1/9 were modified I wouldn't bother with a "normal" insurance company as they could never compete in the terms of quality of cover or cost compared to a classic insurance broker. Best of all with a classic policy you get to decide weather or not to repair/restore/buy back the car in case of collision or damage it's very rare to have anywhere near the amount of control with a normal policy.
