Hi all,

I had just started having engine cutoff's when i was driving, that is, it was just turning of when i was driving! and i noticed that the ignition coil was heating a lot! so i changed it with a new one.... but now with the new one it seems that it is misfiring for some reason!! i cant understand why?
To check the problem i replaced the new one with the previous ignition coil and it was OK, there was no misfire (with the old coil it works bad when heats up).

What can i do? do i have to reset the distributor now? dose it make sens?

Hold up, don't change anything on the dizzy if the car was running fine before the problems started.

I had the exact same problem. It will start fine and run fine then out of the blue, while driving it will just cut out. Sometimes I would wait 'till it cools down then it will start up again - sometimes. I changed the pretrol pump, plugs, coils.

The problem was the ignition unit - that finned silver thing sitting on the distributor. It is always adviseable to change the pick-ups at the same time.

If you search on my name you will find the whole story of my ordeal.
