Considering the age of the car, I do not think it fares bad, huh?

Compare this to the poor Seicento - compared to Tipo, it seems a coffin on wheels:

 
pretty much sums up why old tiny cars are not great! has anyone seen the rover 100 crash test, jeeeez! I wouldnt put myself in that amount of danger by driving a car that crashes like that.

Umm... the Seicento is a fairly new 'tiny car'... about ten years newer than the Tipo and twenty years newer than the Metro - I mean Rover 100, anyway :eek:

Well, one cannot reasonably expect that there will be much left if you crash Seicento against a brick wall at speed. After all, it was designed for urban traffic, not for cruising a freeway at speed.
Thinking twice, maybe my comment about a "coffin on wheels" was a bit exaggerated... if the driver of Sei has some brains, then I think the worst accident happening to him/her will be a paint scratched during not-too-careful parking in front of supermarket...;)
 
That sedici has a lot more engine then my one.six. Think the smaller engine Tipo's would be more of a mess :(

maybe more of a mess but thaose smaller engines wouldn't end up on the front seats. simple laws of physics mean that when when the engine runs out of room in the engine bay it'll make it's own.

AFAIK there is a standard valid from late 60s specifying that the engine must run under the feet of the driver in case of a frontal impact. Sounds stupidly, I know, but...
I have seen a lot of pictures of various wrecked Unos - all of them had engines pushed below the driver.
