Technical Fiat Tipo 1.4 ie 1995 Engine.

Hi Guys,

Sadly whilst driving my Tipo the cambelt went and now I'm looking for a 1.4 engine. If anyone knows of a car going for spares or repair or even just an engine, in the West Midlands area could you please let me know.

The best is, I was about to fit a new cambelt in the week! That'll teach me!

Hi wayne, try fitting a new belt first, reset your engine timing too. Then turn engine by hand, a socket on the crankshaft pulley will do nicley. If it still turns freely, and you have compression on all 4 cylinders! Then you are one lucky man. failing that, take off the head, and see which valves are bent, it might not be as serious as you think! You have nothing to loose, and plenty to gain, good luck lad.
