Hi I'm new here, I was recommended by my brother. Okay, whats happened is my Mum's car "Fiat Stilo active 1.2L 16valve 02 plate" has randomly decided not to start. We've had a guy from our local garage do a diagnotic test on it which he says indicated that it was the imobaliser.
The symptoms are as follows:
Car will sometimes (on the rare occasion start)
The car will usually start the electrics fine, then as you go to turn the key further to start the engine it wont actualy let you turn the key, the ignition stops you. However, if you turn it before the electrics get a chance to start up then it will let you turn it all the way in the ignition but not do anything apart from start the electrics like usual.
The cars recently had a new battery and it was working fine at first but now it's sudenly stopped after we tightened the cables to the battery up.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Any ideas just chuck them out there I'm open to anything right now.
