fiat stilo abarth selespeed clutch slipping?

hi all new member desperate for help! I have viewed this forum countless times for countless problems with my abarth and have found it extremely helpful. My abarth seems to take a large amount of revving before the clutch reaches its biting point in gears 1 through 4, if i give it the beans the clutch reacts quicker but i cant drive it all the time like its stolen! It does feel as if the clutch is slipping and i have to feather the accelerator to make it reach the biting point it has been this way since i bought it 2nd hand i had never owned a semi auto and wasnt really sure how it should feel, any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
