Ok, so I have read a lot in the forum about seicentos but I have a few qustions.
What is the difference between a 1.1sx and a 1.1 sporting?

... I am thinking about engine swapping a seicento and I was wondering if the 1.2 8v will fit straight in a 1.1sx seicento because everyone seems to be swapping sportings

also do the late models have MPI ?? then I will have to use the 75 engine ?

Found it!

You might get a better reply in the Seicento section, re-post this there.

Sporting had a closer ratio gearbox, lowered suspension, and different trim, etc.
Later S & SX with teh 1100 engine used a standard ratio gearbox, as did the Suite special edition in 1999.
Early 1.1s used Spi, later ones Mpi, can't remember the change, but I think it was about 2002/3.

I think the 1.2 engine is taller, so not a straight swap, but has been done. Hopefully more answers will follow, especially if you ask in the Sei section.

The 1108 SX models are all MPi. Change to multipoint happened at the same time Fiat dropped the old 899 engine which was fitted to anything other than sporting models up to then.

If your SX is 2001 on -then yes it's a MPI. It's always wise to put what car you are talking about in any threads you start.
MPI's have lower exhaust emissions than SPI's.... BUT that part of the MOT was (& hopefully still is) based on the year of the engine not the year of the car so you could use a SPI engine with it's correct ecu.
These two posts will get you off to a good head start-

Clicking on the FAQ's or GUIDES section at the top of the homepage will give open up a wealth of information & there is a workshop manual you can download from this site.
