Hey,
got a Seicento with a nice suspension clunk on rough roads/speed bumps. Looked underneath, ARB bush looks good (noted the ARB rests on the wishbone when jacked up but when I dropped the car down it clears?), bushes etc all look okay, top mount rubbers appear fine although plates a bit rusty which I think figures?

Any idea's? I was sold on a ball joint but appears to be no play that I can feel/see? I do have a driveshaft going but it's not that making noise i'm sure. I can feel the clunk through the floor if it's hard enough.

Strangely I love this little car even with it's many faults. It's querky!

Are you sure it's from the front, most common noise is from the rear bushes which sometimes sounds much closer than it is. Even if bushes look good it's quite often misleading. Strut tops are worth investigating too, most likeley a rubber overhaul is in order.

confirmed rear metal elastics only do 7 years or 50k miles won't get a MoT fail either... bang over man hole covers or 5p pieces.

not easy getting the old bushes out and there is a guide

I'm pretty sure it's in front of me, i'd like to polybush it in the future but I really can't afford it at the moment. I did completely forget track rod ends but it feels so much like a balljoint on the front? Any way to test it other than trying to tilt the wheel top to bottom?

Any link to the guide for the rear bushes bud? On my phone so a bit of a nightmare to look around

Blue is correct use a normal browser on iPhone or e.g. my dinky droid.

most people burn out.

the OEM metal elastics are quiet wee auto eats windy roads...

if the boots at front on lower arm are ok the ball is probably ok but undo the two large bolts at bottom of strut to remove spring loading from balls to really inspect. But you will need to use plus gas A for a week and 17 and 18 metrics. Four new nylocs and locktight to do up.

Replacing lower arms needs removal of bolts into captive nuts in box sections and can be difficult google eurocarcare for #phone and phone for £ quote.

Burn and cut. Do it outside!

Alternatively, they can be pressed out, if you can find/make a suitable mandrel.

They can be pigs a week end for one side for slow old me.
Taking whole rear arm to local eng shop with press is an option.
OEM bushes are cheaper than plastic but the plastic ones don't need pressing in.

At the front there should be no detectable play on lower balls or track rod ends. If the boots are perished google for generic replacements but most people replace unit.
