Technical fiat punto start problem

my 13 years old punto keep cutting out as if its a fuel fault but if its left for 5 10 mins it starts back up,,theres no warning lights coming on no nasty noises no black smoke nothing car runs perfect then all of a sudden cuts out. when i try to re start the tempreature gauge wont rise and i cant hear the fuel pump . after minutes it works agai ... i tried to change the fuel pump with no good any help plz

Earth fault or TDC sensor.

Exactly the same problem I had. Turned out to be the crank sensor. Cheap to replace and easy to fit.

i checked it with computer and there was no cranck sensor error ....
i found:
CAN Line error u1601
p1325 knock sensor
p-351 coil 1
u1600 Electronic key

any help plz ?

Can line error probably represents a communication error between the reader and the ECU (poor cable?) so I'd tend to distrust it.

Come to think of it, if it is a Mk 1 Punto, surely it doesn't have a knock sensor and isn't OBD2 compliant anyway!

yeah
mk1 have no CAN and no knock sensor
on mk2 such a codes = failed 59F type ECU

guyz its punto 2000 and this CAN line can be replaced or what plz help knowing that theres no backfire so idont think its crank sensor and code key is lightened when it cuts off

Cank sensor faults don't produce backfires. Can't remember the year Mk1 became Mk2, but if it has 4 injectors (and is not a Punto 75) it has to be a Mk2.

Crank sensor doesn't always appear on the scan. If it's an intermittent fault (and an on/off fault) the ecu will either think (if the engine is running) all is well, or if it doesn't run, that the engine isn't turning over.

They're cheap enough -- get a genuine one -- so I'd be inclined to try it.

Key code, no. Fuel pump sound sahould dissapear after system has primed, anyway. But I'm begining to think you have some issue with the immobiser system.

guys thanx for reply i am really confused i only want to know what is relation between fuel pump and tempreature gauge ? as when it cut off the tempreature gauge dont rise although car was hot also fuel pump become dead with no sound ...so i leave it for 5 min works again perfectly and everything return normal and stays for hours before cutting again
