fiat punto sporting audio subwoofer problem

Hi, my daughter has a W Reg 1.2 sporting with the factory standard subwoofer with a after market head unit.

Does anyone know how to connect the subwoofer? there is a multi pin three colour plug behind the radio but a halfords engineer said that might be for steering whell controls

Any info would be good - Thanks
