Hello!

I love my Fiat, but I'm absolutely useless when it comes to cars. Some bugger broke my aerial off last night and there's a bit of the base left over.

Is this easy to replace on my own? I've attached a picture of what's left of my old Aerial on this post.

Would this do the part as a replacement? For reference, I own an Automatic Fiat Punto 2003 1.2 16V.

If the above ebay item will work, can anyone offer any advice on how I go about:

1. Removing what's left of my old aerial base without damaging my car roof?
2. How I safely fix the new aerial and base to my car.

Sorry if this is a really easy, stupid question, I'm just honestly rubbish when it comes to cars.

Thanks everyone :)!

Hi,

Yes thats the correct part for replacement.

Its very simple to do, simply remove your interior light, and it will give you acess to the bolt that hold the aeiral base to the car.

Once you have removed the old base, give the area on the roof around the base a good clean, so that the new base seals nicely and you dont get any leaks! (y)

Definately worth giving it a go yourself even if you are a novice!

Hope that helps,
Alan

I done mine a week your so ago, Mine has a electric sunroof and the nut for the base is behind the motor for the sunroof. was a bit tight. but without the motor it would be a pretty simple job

I was just about to ask this. I've an electric sunroof so the Aerial base appears to be directly above the sunroof controls.

So, how do I safely take the sunroof controls off? Do I use a flat head screwdriver to lever the casing off? Then I'm guessing I can then just click it back into position once I'm done?

Cheers everyone!

yeah you need to lever the control panel off. You can use a screwdriver, I used just my fingers. Under the panel you will finder the sunroof motor, its held on by 3 torq screws. Once you undo these you can move the motor to one side and get to the nut holding the aerial base on.

What I also done was open the sunroof fully and then pulled back the trim around the sunroof opening that holds the roof lining up, this gives you a bit more room to pull the lining down so that you can move the motor about easier. Also with the sunroof open you can hold the base in place while you do the nut up (y)
