Tuning Fiat power mods

I recently ran my stock Palio Weekend 1.6 at Tarlton and achieved a time of 18.4s for the quarter mile.

One guy said I must open the plenum chamber and remove the foam filters inside for better airflow. Is he talking nonsense or can I do it?

hi I saw your car run at Tarlton and i said take the plastic portion of the manifold off and fit a bigger plenium chamber
i have a x19 with the same engine just turbocharged and I run a 13sec 1/4 mile with street tyres and an exit speed of 189 km/h which is more than your top speed after about 2 kilos so obviously i know what i am talking about
