Fiat Electrical fault

Hi All, My lovely fiat punto Active Sport '02 has died on me! Apparently I need to take it to fiat dealership as there is an electrical fault involving supply of power to fuel pump. The fuel pump is working, but some connections aren't working so car is not starting. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem? It seems as though Fiat has had problems with the EDU? Is it expensive to get repaired?

The car has been amazing - no problems until now. Looking on web it seems that other people have commented that this might be a design fault with this registration plate? I would really appreciate any advice anyone has as I need to take it to dealership tomorrow.
