Hi all!

Was wondering, if the tensioners need replacing, does it require the Timing Belt to be totally changed?

If so whats a decent price all in?

Thanks!!

no, you can replace the tensioner without removing the belt, however it is very important that the belt does not move (even by a tooth) on the crank pulley or on either cam pulley. in situations like this i would use elestic bands around the pulleys to hold the belt flush against the teeth, then you can release tension safely.

timing belt job price can vary a lot depending on what model you have and which parts you want replacing. just a belt and tenisoner will cost approx £300 fitted on a 20v because its a pain in the arse to do.

Thanks a lot guys...

Do you mean it's approx £300 for the whole of the Timing Belt to be changed or just that certain part? (sorry, as you cab tell, i'm not a expert) :D:D:D

£399 at PowerFiat for all the belts, tensioners and waterpump...it's normally the aux belt that snaps and takes the cambelt with that shags the engine...I'd get the lot done and then you don't need to worry for a few years :)
