Hi guys,

I am about to replace my beloved but never away from trouble Punto mk1 1995.

Initially I wanted to stay away from Fiat but I have found an interesting second hand Fiat Brava HSX 1.9 JTD.

The car is from year 2000, 170 000km (105 000 miles), full service book, no rust and cosmetically in mint condition.

I have read that JTD engines are pretty good and can run very long (well above 300 000 miles) in good condition. I also read that Fiat Brava diesel models are much better than the gasoline ones.

My question to you guys is:
-What's your experience with this car?

Thanks in advance,

N

I have had several Bravos in my time and I have to say the best one i owned is my Bravo JTD. I've had it 4 years now and its done me proud. The engine is pretty much bullet proof and very reliable. Only common faults with the JTD engine is that the MAF sensors can die and give your car a lack in performance and the EGR as with many other marquees also tends to carbon up and cause power and or smoking symptoms. However these are cheap easy fixes.

The MK2 interior is so much nicer than the MK1 interiors and the HSX is a top range model so i doubt you'll be unhappy with it.
