Thank you this helped a lot alreadyI’m pretty sure non reflector to reflector headlights is plug and play as I read it here https://www.abarthforum.co.uk/500-abarth-tuning/facelift-headlight-projector-questions/
2nd post, I can’t see it being an issue if your car is a non abarth but no idea
Hopefully someone will confirm on here
Okay, thank you!I agree they should be plug and play. As long as they are the halogen lights. The Xenon/HID headlights are a different story.
Having had both pre- and post-facelift cars, I can confirm that the later projection type dipped beam lamps are inferior to the earlier reflector type. We improved ours with high brightness bulbs, but I certainly wouldn't recommend changing from the old style units to the new.Okay, thank you!
Ok, thank YouTube. Luckily I askel and didn't just try for myselfHaving had both pre- and post-facelift cars, I can confirm that the later projection type dipped beam lamps are inferior to the earlier reflector type. Facelift projector lights are still halogenHi all,
First post here having secured a lovely 2014 500C colour therapy yesterday for my wife.
I've already ordered the plug and play retrofit taillights from MS-Racing and I need to change the god awful halogen headlights. These are the basic non-projector kind.
If I order a pair of 2016+ facelift projector headlights off eBay are they 100% plug and play??
I would also be happy with pre facelift projector headlights but oddly there don't appear to be any on eBay !?
YesHiya
Yeah I DON'T mean Xeon, I mean halogen project.
So can I safely order some facelift projector headlights on eBay and fit them with no issues?
As I said in an earlier post, the halogen projection headlamp units fitted to the facelift 500s give a worse dipped beam performance than the earlier design. We currently run a 2014 model with the older lights, and find them OK. I suggest the simplest solution is fitting high brightness bulbs such as Osram Nightbreakers. Don't think about l.e.d. bulbs though as they aren't legal for UK road use.Hiya

No it won't pass a mot, my mazda has a hid conversion you cannot even tell its converted beam pattern is correct but still a mot fail.Fit facelift halogen projector lights then fit either an hid bulb kit or led bulbs to them.
No its 'technically' not legal but massive improvement on light output and will pass mot.
