Good morning,
I would like to ask if anyone has a service manual or information from their own experience regarding changing the oil in the gear changing robot in a Fiat 500 1.2 petrol from 2010.
Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hello,

There are 3 fluids in the Dualogic / Selespeed / Comfortmatic / F1 system.

DOT4 is the one which requires the most of the attention - it's highly higroscopic, so requires to be changed every 2 to 4 years.

There are a couple of interesting threads on the robotized gearbox on the forum - especially the ones named 'the one and only' ;)

Here's the eLearn doc on the system in Alfa 147/156. In general it's the same, some small differencies might occur - like parts localisation, part numbers, used fluid volumes, etc. The logic of the system is the same in all the cars of the FIAT group.

Hi - so the 500 only has two fluids, and there's no DOT4 used. (The DOT4 brake fluid is only used where the clutch slave is on a separate hydraulic line inside the bellhousing e.g. on the Abarth or possibly the older applications above. The clutch slave is integral with the robot on the regular 500.)

The robot uses TUTELA CS SPEED fluid. Use this if you can find it (e.g. from Fiat - it was originally their product), else DEXRON III ATF is acceptable.

Don't put brake fluid in the robot reservoir! This will destroy the accumulator.

(The other fluid is regular SAE 75W gearbox oil, which goes in the main bit of the gearbox but again, must not be put in the robot reservoir)

Nick
