Technical fiat 2.0 16v turbo starting probs

I'm a newbie to this site, but have found it very informative.
I have a problem with my 1996 2.0 litre 16v turbo. Firstly a few months ago, I went to start the car and it backfired and then took a few turns to start, with that the ignition warning light came on ?. Ever since then its had the same problem. Some mornings I can get in and she'll start straight away, but some days she will take a few turns to start, sometimes backfires...........but will eventually start once I let the ignition key return to start position. Once started, she never cuts out and runs fine.
I have tried a crankshaft angle sensor and still have the same problem, have cleaned all earths etc. This problem still exists whether the weather is hot or cold ? Can anyone help . Would appreciate any advice

hey there ! does this mainly happen on damp mornings? if so it could possibly sound like damaged/faulty coil pack?
