General Fiat 128 3p info

Hi,
Has anyone got info on the 128 3p used in motorsport.....ie, was it ever homologated for rallying (I've seen various rally pictures with big arches etc) , I know the 128 saloon was around in gp2 and gp4 states of tune. I used to rally one many moons ago in the CCC Fiat Rally challenge but that was bog standard. Many thanks
