Hi all,
I have a fiat 124 2l injection on a 1981 car and wonder if a Fiat 132 engine will be the same fit the engine I’m looking to put in has a code of 132 0b2a, is the bottom block the same as the one in my car this is the part I need to replace. Any help welcomed thanks.

I don't have much detail on 2.0 litre Fiat 124.
Found this in old DIY manual that lists the 1995cc engine as well as the smaller engines. Do the bore and stroke sizes match?
Also does a head gasket supplier mention the same gasket fits both engine types?

Hi thanks for the info, as mentioned the bottom block is coded 132 0b 2a and this is currently on a carburettor fed head, my head is injection fed and it’s bottom block code is 132 AC 40/9 … I cannot locate enough info on the various parts co’s websites to suggest I can swap the bottom blocks over in a direct swap …anyone know if they will be able to be switched?

Irrespective of the engine code all 2000 blocks are the same. they are all interchangeable as are the heads. Are you reading the codes from the block casting or the engine number stamping ? I cannot seem to find a reference for 132 0B 2A but there was a 132 DB but that was for the Volumex supercharged cars. I believe the 132 AC Block is an 1800. These share the same bore as the 2000 but will not be as tall. you can fit an 1800 head to a 2 litre and vice versa. The casting code on the top of the head will tell you what valve sizes you have.
