afternoon chap!

im bored as u may of guessed. so i called the local scrappy. looking for an alfa 1.8 twin spark engine. now he doesnt have 1 in but was gonna look out for me. he said wat do i need to complete the job... this is where i became stuck. tryin to then explane that i have a fiat brava wanting an alfa engine he couldnt get to grips with. anyway i got email him with the list of items needed.

so here we go again lol..

Engine (includes gearbox,clutch, alternator ect)
ecu
wiring loom.

will i need anything else. andis this a straight swap or am i getting in a fiddle again.

i am gonna upgrade to those 6grooves red dot thought that would stop the car better than the std brakes.

Engine mounts
driveshafts

You'd need more than red dot 6 grooves to stop that, you really need vented discs.

do the engine mounts line up??? or will i need custom

drive shafts ill add

how about if i steal the fronts of a 1.8 bravo there vented are they not??

Not a clue, its just worth having them

Yup, get some 1.8 front calipers. The hubs are the same. Just get some new discs & pads. (don't use old ones!)

lol paul u gave me the idea. im pricing it up at the moment. these engines r like impossible to find. i think my idea of under 40k on the clock might have to be changed. also got to get a new quote from insurence company i bet that goes through the roof but if that goes well ill look in to it more seriously. im only doing it now cos im bored to feck

that was one of my ideas
i'll either get a 2.0 twinspark + ecu codebox etc etc etc etc or sell my car and get a JTD. i'm unsure about which way to go

Re the engine mounts, the upper mount that attaches to the suspension turret is attached in a different place on the punto.
