FAO Tom: "Sticky" NEW Clutch in 2.0 HGT ???

Hi guys;

I've recently changed my clutch in the HGT, with the orginal clutch Part No: 71734767 (which is a Valeo Clutch) and the problems began.

At first, the clutch pedal was soo soft which is welcomed but suddenly I realized that the clutch stays sticked when you want to change gears @ high rpms like 6000-6500rpm ???

The clutch pedal was simply not coming back for a second or more and then it releases it self, allowing you to run...?

My mechanic decide to change the upper & lower hydrolic centers (I don't know the part names..) so we did that too...

But nothing changed :(

My clutch was still sticky...

They looked for everything but couldn't find the problem. Finally some older & "experienced" mechanic said that these models (HGT & Marea HLX 2.0) can do this because of the new clutch kit. After sonme use, the new clutch will be working smoothly as the old one ?

Can this be true ?

We have changed every part in the clutch system with the original ones but it still sticks when you kick it down, stays there... And suddenly releases it self ?

My HGT is crippled :(

As a final solution they decided to take out the spring ( which elevates the pedal system to its highest point after you kick it down. But also runs as a tensioner at pushdowns.) After taking out the spring, the clutch seems working as before.

No sticky movements at kickdowns but there seems to be another problem...

Without the clutch spring, the pedal works fine but sometimes it stays lower than its highest point. Distracting your drive...

They said that its because of the hydrolics and will be OK after a couple thousand km.s ???

Any ideas anyone ?

What are we missing there ?
Urgent help needed... Thanks in advance... :)

what about ur clutch slave cylinder? i remember mikeybravo had that with his and it ended up being that but his was soooo knakered im suprised it even compressed!

when u did the clutch did u clean the shaft which the release bearing slides on? that gets greased up over the years and could need a clean.

She's a monster soon to be revealed :)

If they didnt want it stripping they shouldnt have used nuts and bolts :)

Nothing greased as I know...

Thanks Tom & Shaun, but they greased nothing as I know...
Should they ?

@Shaun: Everything changed, the clucth, slave & master cylinder...

Save me from this "sticky" clucth pedal.

I'm running with no clucth springs but this seems not fair & the clucth reacts not it is supposed to be :(

If the clutch plate is sticking on the gearbox splines it will behave as you say.

The old clutch would have worn as the splines wore, the new one won't fit properly and under load can jam. It might even be the case you need a new gearbox input shaft.
