Eagerly awaiting news fella as I am intrigued.

I'm so intrigued i might become a mechanic for a living.

Unfortunately the fuel cutoff switch isnt to blame...i wish it were though.

I will tell everything i know folks as its an injustice not to after what help and advice ive personally gained from this place.

Its going to fiat monday or tuesday so i will have a definate answer/solution by the end of nxt week. I'm prepped for some bad news!

Daft question but they have checked all the connectors are in place and secure and that the throttle butterfly is free to move?

From what I remember it turns over splutters and dies.

If its electrical the diag should show it very quickly.

Tom i dont know if they have checked that out but rest assured your comments are being noted and i'll point them out to my mechanic prior to it leaving for Fiat.

When i tried to start the car, the engine did once turnover. it spluttered and juddered for 10 or so seconds and died. I thought i could hear a slight knocking during the brief period that the engine ran.

The knocking will most likely be lack of oil pressure as its not turning fast enough.

Just get them to take the inlet hose off the throttle body and stick a finger up (ooer!) it to make sure its not stuck closed.

Its unlikely but the other option is the hot wire has snapped in the airflow meter. Or that you have no fuel pressure.

Points noted again! Ta Tom

Question is...when inserting finger, should lube be used?
