Hi

Where abouts in Nuneaton are you? I bought my Bravo from research Garage in Nuneaton last year and it's been trouble ever since!!

Regards
Andy

nuneaton

if your worried that you bought my old 1.4s, then dont worry, i sold it to the bloke who owns the garage next to the BP garage opposite the graziers on weddington road, and not to the research garage.

actually i have a tale to tell about research, went in one saturday to research, to get a new manual, ariel and and an exterior window rubber. when i told the bloke from parts i wanted a few bits and pieces he replied "this isnt going to take long (paused for a few secounds) IS IT?"

from that day i vowed never ever to buy a car from those tossers, plus they wanted £950 to bchange the cambelt.

cheers

Yep

Yeah I know they are a total bunch of idiots - they put a CD player in mine and then told me there isn't a manual for it! I mean its a fiat stereo. They had the car a whole day with it to sort out a problem with it pulling to the left and when I collected it they said they couldn't find anything wrong. They had to replace the clutch twice because they messed up the first time....and the list goes on.

Oh well - you may see me around, silver bravo with punto abarth alloys.

Cheers
Andy

good garage

the garage on weddington road is highly reccommended. the guy who does all my servicing (chris haddon) will only pass serious engine work to him, as all other garages subcontract to some place top of heath end rd on the left. while he does it all himself.

i had a tipo 2.0ie and was failing its MOT due to emmissions, and chris had tried everything to get them down.

in the end he found that the 3rd cylinder was down on compresion and so chris recommended him. explained the problem and booked it in. got a call next day a sensor was faulty (he knew someone who worked for research and was able to check it by swapping it over).

the end result was he could have done or said he done the valves then done the sensor and made a killing, but just did what was needed. saved me about £300.
the cylinder was still down on compression but it passed its MOT.

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. Will bear it in mind - I know the garage you are talking about and have also heard it is highly recommended.

Mine still has a year's warranty left but as soon as that's run out I probably won't touch Research again.
