hi mate,

im dave been readin the forum 4 about a month now and its an idea source of info.so mind if i pick ur brains about the turbo conversion? hows it all going?how much did u get the bits for?ive found a complete coupe turbo 4 breakin 4 about 2000.thats with anything i want off it.anything!

ive got the time and money and space and tools and expierence 2 do it jus need some tips about how 2 go about it really.

any ideas how many 2.0 16v turbo bravo's there are in the country???

hmb mate.
cheers.dave k

yep

that sounds a good buy,

they were willing to sell me the entire coupe for 2300, it had had a interior fire, but it didnt have the leatehr which is the only other thing i would have liked.

i did pay about 2 grand for basic parts, engine g/box wiring harness, ecu, turbo, intercooler, etc

i was advised to buy a tipo 16v gearbox and driveshafts and hubs, as the coupe box is apparently not hydraulic like the bravo.

but seeing what avanti have done they have modified engine mounts because of wanting extra support because its gonna have loadsa torque,

they've also had to modify the gear box so the balanced and lightened flywheel would fir ok and so the performance clutch would sit in it.

the straight swap idea doesnt seem to be working too well at all!

oh

Oh,and i'm not suer whether there's any 16v turbo bravo's anywhere? i think most of the ones that have had swaps were the 20v, which thereis one definately done in york i think? and theres rumours of two others, one apparetnly with nitrous aswell.

Re: oh

Yep, I know of one just north of York with a 20v turbo (seen it with my own eyes).
And theres a rumour of a 2nd in the Sheffield area again with a 20v turbo and NoS.
I'm not aware of any 16v turbo Bravo/as but their are a few Fiat Tipos with this conversion.

.

What performance clutch is being fitted out of curiousity, because an uprated tipo one wont fit onto the flywheel, unless avanti (yeeeeeeeeehah!) are putting a lightened tipo flywheel on the coupe engine

Si im the only one with a coupe turbo conversion at the mo, there is someone else doing a coupe engine into his 3dr tipo (mine is 5dr) other conversion that are around is a thema turbo and 2 x dedra turbo conversions which are both 8v

Re: .

I remember leaving Auto Italia last year at Donington Park on the Saturday.
Shame on me I was trying to keep up with a Ferrari 355 Spyder(as you do!), I was behind him going over a roundabout he floors it, i floor it, i'm in third gear, revs about 4500rpm (about where the engines at its best) and I look to my right to see a red Tipo 16v sailing past me like i was stood still.
And hell, it kept up with the 355 to the M1!
Not sure which of the turbo engines it was, but it was dam quick! :)

hmm

lol

they are using a lightened and balance flywheel, anf they have had to have it machined slightly :$

and have had to 'adjust' the gearbox casing, slightly,

i have been down to see it and it all looks ok, alhtough idont know if there would have been an easier way!
