Technical Faint Burning Smell 07 JTD

Had the car for about a month now. Done about 2.5K miles, every so often I notice a burning smell, like burning rubber. Don't have any faults that I can see/feel. Car can be on the move for 8 hours solid. Smell completly random, don't notice any regular things that trigger.

Could this be just the car being run in, or could it be anything more sinister?

We had a similar smell when our 54 plate (New Shape) was still quite new and it turned out to be a leaky power steering rack, the oil would run onto the exhaust and cause the smell. Only ever smelled when stopped mind you. Take it into Fiat for an inspection.

Hi. Our Bravo 09 2.0 Sport has done 2k and has the same symptoms. The smell seems to come from the rear nearside, and is totally random.

Before I take it to the dealer, did you ever find the cause?
