car put in for mot...and it failed. tracking rod ends and brake pipes...how much do u reckon that should cost? ive been quoted 290 for parts and labour and retest which i thought was reasonable.
Renewing trackrod ends is easy enough if you have a ball joint splitter. Take off the wheel,slacken the trackrod end locknut and mark it with paint to align with the track rod. undo the ball joint nut then use the spliter, pull it off the hub carrier then unscrew the t/r end. screw on the new one up to the locknut and tighten the locknut.Screw on the balljoint retaining nut. have tracking checked at garage
