Help,
The missus has put a fag burn on the drivers seat of my three month old 500 1.2 pop. Its got the red/white fabric/mock leather trim and the burn is in the white mock leather bit.
Does anyone know of any possible repair for this type of injury or will it require a new seat. i'm gutted as I keep it detailed beautifully and am constantly fussing over the thing, wiping it clean and vaccuming it out.
The burn itself ids not too big, only about 4mm in diameter and its not burnt through the material completely.
Anyone heard of any smart repair available for this sort of thing?
Its gonna drive me mad now, knowing its there. Its hard having new car OCD, I figured the little thing would get an ASDA dint as its first injury.
Thanks

If you can't get a satifactory repair, you don't need to buy a whole new seat. Original seat cushion cover is available from Fiat for about £100.

thanks for all the advice, can't get another divorce! the last one broke me!
I will see if gloucester has any smart repairs then try Wessex Fiat for the seat fabric - ta!

i would mental in your situation
mind you, nobody would be smoking in my car to begin with ;)

Ditto. I was pissed enough when the wife thought it a good idea to empy a whole packet of crisps inbetween the seats and down into the handbrake.......

There is already a smoking thread

Wario, I used to know a smart repairer (now emigrated) but the work was amazing and you would struggle to see where the mark/hole was so its definately worth looking into. It was £25 small or £40 larger repair however its possible there might be a charge for travelling of far away?

Heartbreaking. But I too can't understand why you allowed her to smoke in the car. Or eat in it. But you did, because you're a nice person.

Since divorce is apparently unaffordable I'm afraid you're probably just going to have to learn to live with it.

My girlfriend was the same way! in my old car she smoked with the window open, in the new car I absolutely forbid it... but after 2 weeks i could see her getting more relaxed about it.

And she wasn't very happy when I took her to mcdonalds (her choice) and told her to either sit inside the restaurant or sit in the rain cause it ain't coming in the car :p

But we've broken up now, I got sick of the pet hair she left behind in the car!

wow, thanks for all the advise, you are a resourceful and friendly crowd.

The whole smoking thing just happened. She didnt smoke for the first few weeks then got complacent. The fag burn happened when I lent her the car because I wanted to take my Coupe to work.

Now though she has lost the "posh" key and she has not got a clue where it is. The Pop only comes with one good posh key, the spare key does not have remote locking or flick knife key - I cant live with the one key so gonna have to get another posh one.

Sorry to ask again but any forumites had to obtain a new key yet? It is expensive? Hope not, still waiting unitl payday to get the seat repaired.

Supposidly its in the region of £200 for a new key due to the coding etc. I maybe wrong though, others will offer more information, but best to do a search on the 500 bit, top right corner of the box just type new key or something sure loads will come up
