F1 2010 Game

Ok so I'm really looking forward to this game coming out but finding it hard to decide which platform to buy it on PS3 or xBox 360???... fancy getting a wheel too
What’s everyone else going for and what do you think will be best for playability and graphics?

I'm getting it for the 360, and looking at getting a wheel as well, at the moment think I'm going to get the xbox 360 wireless steering wheel. Not a bad price and from the reviews I've read it looks pretty good!

I guess it depends what you want it for...I believe graphics are the same for PS3 and the 360, but no idea about online play for the PS3.

Yeah it looks as if it could be great, such a long time since theres been a decent F1 game last good one I remember was Geoff Crammond GP2.

Think I probably end up going for it on the Xbox so I can play it on the 42in with the Logitech speaker set up.
The PS3 is on a 37in and although I think the PS3 may have slightly better graphics I think that the overall experience on the Xbox linked to the bigger screen & with the speaker setup will be better.
As for a wheel I really don’t know which one to go for, never actually used one I always ended up just using the control pad.

The microsoft wheel is well worth a look, not the best you can get but i've had one since they first came out and it's very handy bit of kit and makes Forza motorsport cool as well.

Really hard to find though ...can't find it anywhere in stock!

Seems your right they've been out of production for a long time like but there was spare stock about.

Lucky my first one died earlier in the year and I picked up another when they were still around.

I am crap at it lol, every race I finish last, made to get up to 20th in quali, but got a 5 place grid drop for crashing into someone >.<.

Going to start again with Lotus I think...only went for Virgin so I could say 'I'm riding a Virgin'...

Takes some getting used to but I’m getting the hang of it now, finally having my wheel now really makes a difference. I started with lotus doing ok so far, although I’m not doing full race lengths yet.
Biggest problem I have is with Sutil constantly blocking me when I’m on my flying lap! :bang:

how does it compare to previous F1 games, do the cars feel like they handle realistically?

It's a very beautiful game, the weather modelling is brilliant and the tracks are very well modelled (although wish they hadn't modelled Bahrain properly its so dull). I'm another one who languishes at the back at the moment having difficulty getting the car to flow around the track properly due to a lack of track knowledge. Not sure how realistic the game is as such never having driven an F1 car, they are pretty tricky with the assists off but manageable.

Yea but cost me £20.

Im with Lotus, qualified on pole all 4 races, got half way through China and it froze, was last anyway so doesnt bother me. Won Australia and Maylasia.

Anyone tried heavy rain with slicks? Interesting to say the least.

Also in Bahrain i got pole, leading into the 2nd corner and got a puncture:bang:

Took me 5 minutes to do a lap on slicks at Bahrain! So much fun though lol.

I can't find a setting that I like, tried on the highest AI and I was 7/8 seconds off 23rd, went to the easiest and was on pole with a Lotus (not going to happen in the first season lol), second and third I can't decide on though. Think I'll go for third and hope for the best!

Really enjoying it now im into the handling, although my steering wheels down shift paddle broke so have the none ideal up on a paddle down on the B button set up going on. Looks like i'm now looking for either a new wheel or a fanatec clubsport. I find professional difficulty to be the best, on medium I got 3rd in Bahrain coming from 17th on the grid and was chasing down the leaders on last lap in the lotus. Stick it on professional and you are trying fighting for 18-14th which is about right. Dunno what legendary is like tho.

Grrr! Managed to start 19th, started on the primes and pitted on 8th lap (11 laps totals), managed to get to 6th in the race...then the pit stop bug came in and went down to 22nd before I left the pits, then got overtaken on the first corner on the last lap ...nearly cried lol.
