If you're still in here, I'm going to get on the phone now to my insurence company and see what they say about me lowering the car. If its reasonable I will just have to tell the little woman I'm getting them and its my money.

Re: Re: F.A.O. Ian

Bastards cut me off!
Then when I phoned the second time I was put through to a foriegn gent who I could bearly understand who gave me another number to call.
I'm still waiting for them to get back to me.
They have to ask their underwritters. That doesn't sound good.

John.

Re: Re: Re: F.A.O. Ian

They've still not rang back an hour later.
Bloody Eagle Star/Zurich!
I've got to go now so I'll let you know as soon as I know.

John.

Still trying to get through to my insurance company, the service there has been absolutely shite!
On Nicki's website the springs are £98 each anyway so getting two sets for £200 isn't any cheaper.

Are Pi branded springs any good? Do you not think we could get them cheaper else where?

John.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: F.A.O. Ian

Hmm that's true, but I've seen the mag and it does say £99.99 each. On the site, it doesn's say anything about VAT, but they'll probably swindle you for mass postage or something. :S

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: F.A.O. Ian

The insurence people have finally got back to me. It will cost an extra 10% of my policy for the year which will make it an extra £50.
I'm happy with that but the silly cow has gone ahead and put it on my policy!
I was only querying how much it would cost.
Anyway my local garage are going to charge me £25 a spring to fit.
I think that is a lot.
If I'm going to get screwed for postage with the springs I'm going to look/phone about up here on Monday and see how much a set will cost up here, and try and find a cheaper garage.
Hope you don't think I'm messing you about Ian.

John.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: F.A.O. Ian

John, no not at all. Your just trying to understand what's going on :)

Postage should be no more than £15 mate. I sent a set of 14" Clio alloys not so long ago and that cost me £18. Not extortionate.
I meant you will probably get swindled for £40 postage if you ordered it straight from the site (or does it say free delivery?) if not, go from there!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: F.A.O. Ian

Local places are offering sets from Apex, pi and G,max for about £100.
Reviews and opinions on the above brands would be most welcome.
I've also found a place that will fit theres for £50 or a set I bring for £60.
So Ian you just go ahead and get your own. Hopefully you might have them fitted for the Feb meet!
Cheers for all your help Ian,

John.
