expensive?????????????

just been quoted £610.00 by Fiat jcs kegworth including vat for the following.

Tensioner + Timing belt
power steering + alternator belt's
Front pad's + Disc's
Rear Shoe's.

Is this a Rip Off or does it seem value for money.
Never used a main dealer before.
According to my usual mechanic the timing belt need's a special locking device. As he has'nt got it he said I will have to go to a main dealer to have it changed.
Is this correct???

Oop's forgot to mention.
It's a 1.6 auto brava

my local garage monkey changed the belt and tensioner on my bravo 1.6, i doubt he had any special fiat tools. Sound like a rip off to me, dunno about the other work but the belt / tensioner change should be about £150.

To do all the belt's and the tensioner fiat wanted to take my trouser's down to the tune of £265.00.
The front pad's £75.00
The front Disc's £135.00
The Rear Shoe's £135.00 OUCH !!!

Someone is having a laugh! Thats a rip! A service and belt change on my 1.6 cost me £400ish and that included a new suspension arm! AND that was a fiat dealer.

Magnatec Oil


Total; parts, labour and car "loan" (£10 for 2 days insurance)

£461.11

I have never been ripped off by JCS and have always been satisfied with the work done!

remove glovebox inner panel
drink more tea
remove relay
drink tea, eat biccies, watch TV
fit new relay
eat lunch
replace glovebox panel, badly
more tea
job done

I saw your post. That is why I decided to try JCS Kegworth. Living in Ashby-De-La-Zouch they are only 15min's up the road.That is the price they quoted me in an email.
Like I said I've never tried them before but I shall ring them tomorrow morn and if the price is still the same I shall politely tell them where to stick their quote.
