Technical Exhaust / Wheels for Tipo 1.6 ie Cat

Hi all,

Just picked up and astoundingly cheap, low milage, immaculate (and yes, checked for rust and other gremlins) Tipo 1.6ie Cat.

It needs a replacement rear exhaust and the tyres are going to need replacing in the next few thousand kms.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket exhaust (cobie-style or similar) to replace the existing expansion box and muffler.

I would like to relace the standard steel wheels wth some alloys - it seems the scrapyards are full of Fiat/Alfa alloys - and have seen some nice 14x6 rims for £60 a set of 4 - is this too big (wide rather than diameter)?

14" x 6J Fiat alloys should be fine, from Punto, Brava etc. Standard 14" steel wheels are 5 1/2 J. Best tyres probably 185/60 x 14. Sounds like you've got a nice little project.

Just checked and replaced the plugs and air filter, oil and oil filter and it is remakably straight and clean inside....

The Cat makes a rattle which is going to have to be replaced or removed... preferably the latter...

I will run the current tyres out beofre changing - they are too good to throw away.
