I'm gonna have to replace my tyres pretty soon (Michelin Energy 185/15/55) and I'd like to fit very good rain tyres suited our typical rainy weather. My Michelins never really gave me satisfaction in rainy (or cold) conditions, in fact, the grip is terrible and the understeer is gonna kill me one day.
Can anyone advise me which tyres to choose or can anyone share his or her experiences with certain tyres? Should I go for Dunlop, Continental, Uniroyal,...?

Thanx a lot!

if ya have de cash.. P5000"S, THEY STICK TO THE ROAD LIKE **** ON A STICK IN ALL WEATHER AND SAVED MY ASS MANY A TIME

rain tyres

I just bought (a month ago) 195/50/15 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres and they are AWSOME, compareing them to my ex tyres, Uniroyal winter **** (don't know which exactly).

I spent 200 pounds on all four of them and I think it was a money well spent thing ;)

Rubber

Any tyre with a Silica compound will outperform a tyre with rubber compound anyday of the week in the wet. I use Pirelle 6000's but I will change to F1's when I can afford them (they are not cheap) 6000's cost about £55 apiece for 185/65R14's but shop around cause I found it worth my while to travel to Grantham (from Leeds) after a friend told me about a tyre shop he used. (over four tyres saved my self £100 over the cheapest I could find in Leeds)

tyres

The further north you go, the cheaper they get, or so I was once told.

I used to get Yokohama S306's from a place called Auto Image in Edinburgh for £43. fitted and balanced!

Re: tyres

Thanx for your help, guys, I'll think about it, but I don't think I'll go to Leeds or Edinburgh for a new set of tyres, as I live in Belgium (of all places!)
;)

F1 price

Well, here in Slovenia, you can buy 195/50/15 GY F1 tyres for around 40-50 pounds per tyre. And that's a good buy :)

Michelin´s

I never had any problem with my 205-50/15 Michelin Pilot´s. They´re better than the standards Good Year´s.
My HGT handles really good.
I´ve heard Yokohama´s and Conti´s have good quality too.
Cheers!

Good Choice

Hi lads,

Best tyre I liked is the mich's. I di a very silly thing and purchased a set of dulop sporting. before you say it, me is regreating it already. Handles like it is on ice. when I can afford it I'll be going to P1 or equivilent. the tyres cost me £75 each for 16"s. I think I was ripped but, nowt I can do now.

Happy handling and I hope I see you there at donni at the end of month

Bridgestone potenza RE720's or SO2 PP's if they fit your car. You won't find better grip than these.
