A couple of weeks ago my boss came in telling me about how she had agreed to buy one of the very few Rover Coupe Turbo's left...called a 'Tomcat'? Anyway, the guy she was buying it off had it from new, kept it mint etc and was, despite (IMO) very poor taste, a bit of an enthusiast. So he ordered a brand new Evo VIII of which only 1000 are being built.
It took about 4 weeks for two identical cars to arrive - one for him, and one for the Group Chairman of Mitsubishi UK. It was at the garage having some extra bits added and final preparations before the delivery.
The mechanic doing the work though it wise to take it for a test drive....and you can guess the rest. £31k worth of New car written off in the car park and i don't think he got it out of 1st gear.
Result - The mechanic kept his job - must be a wizard with a wrench - The Chairman has to wait 6 weeks for his car - The buyer is happily testing out the 180mph top speed.
Thought i'd share it with you all for a laugh.
