Hi Folks,
New to the site. Got the link from altosportivo.co.uk. I own a 1.9 Dynamic 150BHP.
I would like to make some subtle mods over in the not too distant future. I have a K&N panel filter on the way and would like to add a remap at some point.
I've heard so many different things from different people regarding this. TMC tuning boxes, Celtic tuning, DTUK etc etc. Has anyone in Scotland had theirs done?

Welcome.

Just about all the posts I have read on the subject seem to agree that a remap is the best option over a tuning box, although with that said I have seen people running tuning boxes and being happy enough with them.

From 150 standard you should see a decent number just from a remap alone.

My 140bhp civic maps to 210bhp (with an uprated clutch) so your figures shouldn't be too far off that :)

Yup.

If only it were so. I suspect a power increase in the region of 30bhp is more readily achievable on the 150 mjet engine via a remap, any more than that is unlikely to be all that wise. Good though the Stilo II is (sorry, Bravo) it doesn't have the chassis to cope with much more than 180bhp without fairly serious cash spent. Although with that said if it's just straight line performance that's of interest then the best I've heard from a the 150 engine is indeed about that 210bhp figure.
Personally, I'd want a Q2 diff at the very least to help keep things under control.

Welcome to the forum btw Mark :cool3:

Thanks,
I'm mainly looking for straight line pull, i.e. overtaking. I also liked the feeling of leaving a Renaultsport Clio in my dust on the A737 like earlier today.
So, low down torque mainly. I very rarely stress my engine by revving past 2.5k rpm. A Viezu dealer in Motherwell says he can get 180bhp for £295 with a remap.
Anyone recommend any companies?

The guy told me that the remap is "developed on a rolling road" and installed on the car. My car won't be on a rolling road though. The company that he is an agent for seem to be respectable though.

I might be able to sort you something else, I posted here http://fiat-scotland.com/fiat/upload/showthread.php/12717-Bravo-1.9-JTDM-tuning. but to cover the same territory, I've negotiated a deal with someone in Inverness that could probably be extended to other FS forum users. It's nowt but a run up the A9 and I suspect will be acceptably cheaper than £295 even after fuel
If interested say and I'll start the ball rolling..... the remap comes from a quality source ;)

welcome along and you can start a big debate with the remap to tuning boxes so im not gonna say anything on the subject :D

but for the 115 i paid for my remap box from tmc i was more than happy and made the savings back in the time i owned it and i have still to sell it on and get even more back for it :)
